Web Site Design & Maintenance

Conrad Marcom has been building web sites since 1995. The sites we build are clean, clear "electronic brochures" with excellent search engine optimization and interactivity such as simple shopping carts, data collection forms, etc. I am focused on creating web sites that bring my clients business at a reasonable cost. When done properly, a web site is the least expensive (and most effective) marketing you can do.

A web site must do the following things to be successful in helping you get business.

  • Tell a clear and concise story about who you are and what you offer.
  • Provide in-depth information related to your products/services.
  • Have an easy navigation system that allows visitors to find their way through your site without getting lost.
  • Rank high in the major search engines on the keywords and keyphrases related to your products, services or industry. This helps prospective customers find your product or service when they don't know who you are.

The following is an outline of the specific tasks involved in the successful development of an effective web site. This is the process I follow to completion:

  • Register domain name
  • Choose web site hosting provider
  • Define "the message"
  • Create navigation system
  • Build graphic elements (based on look and feel of logo/image)
  • Create site skeleton
  • Write/place content
  • Build keywords/phrases and site description metatags in preparation for search engine registration
  • Test in multiple browsers
  • Upload to web host
  • Establish POP email accounts and email forwarding (yourname@yourdomain.com)
  • Register with search engines
  • Maintain and update
  • Periodically check search engines for ranking on keywords/phrases pertinent to site traffic
